My Sound Healing Story

I was introduced to sound healing in 2019 after I treated myself to my first sound bath for my birthday. I was in awe. I didn’t know that the sound bath was what I needed. I felt so rested upon leaving. I continued to attend sound baths right before the pandemic (or holistic retreat) happened and outside closed.

Right before everything closed, I decided to sign up for a 16 hour sound healing 101 training because I was interested in facilitating sound baths. Frankly, I wanted to revolutionize the sound bath world with black and brown faces. Every time I’d attend a sound bath, there were never people that looked like me. Heck, I was the only Samoan and Black woman and only Black woman in my training.

So, I decided that I wanted to create safe, authentic, genuinely inclusive, accessible spaces for Black, Brown, Indigenous people to just be.
